Volunteering

Volunteers help to support our children’s middle school experience and build the bridge between home and school. Indian Valley welcomes volunteers through its Helping Hands program. There are two types of volunteers - casual volunteers and program volunteers. Most volunteer opportunities at Indian Valley are considered casual volunteers (less than 10 hours per school year) and do not need clearances. An exception to this is field trips which, while less than 10 hours, are considered program volunteers and do require volunteer clearances.

Current Volunteer Sign-Ups:

Pink Out Week – October 23rd – October 27th - Sign Up
Pretzel Day Sign-Up – Multiple days throughout the year. - Sign Up
Donut Day! – Sign Up
Lunch Destress/Disconnect Sign-Up (Daily) – Sign Up

*By completing the parent volunteer registration form, parents are included on the volunteer roster, which helps the school to coordinate volunteer recruitment efforts and communications. Signing up via the parent volunteer registration form does not commit you. A separate communication for each event will provide activity information and solicit your volunteer commitment (could include setup, chaperoning, fundraising, donating food or other items, event support, etc.).

Required Forms

To volunteer at Indian Valley, all volunteers must complete the two items listed below:

All volunteers must complete Indian Valley's Parent Volunteer Interest Form
All volunteers must complete and return SASD's Community Volunteer Registration and Disclosure Statement (for guardians | for non-guardians). Completed forms and clearances (if necessary) should be submitted to Brenda Huggins via e-mail at bhuggins@soudertonsd.org.

Casual volunteers only need to submit items 1 and 2 listed above.
Program volunteers need to submit items 1 and 2 listed above, AND their volunteer clearances (including Act 34 Criminal History Report, Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance Statement, and Federal Criminal History Record).
