IV Eagle Flyby - October 27, 2023

This week was Pink-Out Week with the culminating Friday, Pink-Out Day. A HUGE Thank You to all the parents who volunteered their time helping with the sale of merchandise during the lunches. Also, another HUGE Thank You to all parents that baked or purchased cupcakes for Pink-Out Day today. Additionally, a HUGE Thank You to the students and staff for their participation in Pink-Out Day. Especially, the IV WEB Teacher Leaders and IV WEB Student Leaders. They are the organizers of the week and a vital part of the culture and climate of IV.

It was a sea of pink around the building and especially in the cafeteria when entire grades were together. All proceeds for the event go to towards Unite for Her, an organization dedicated to supporting women and their families in their flight against breast cancer.

Students on Pink Out Day

IV Musical

There was an interest meeting this week for anyone interested in hearing more about how to audition for the spring musical, "There's A Monster In My Closet," and about the time commitment involved in such a big production. If any students missed the meeting, they should see Mrs. Ramage for the information sheet.

Any student interested must return the Permission to Audition Form to Mrs. Ramage by November 15th. All audition materials (script, written music and music tracks) are posted on the Schoology Group. The code for joining this group is on the information sheet.

Mrs. Ramage will be holding 2 after school meetings for students to attend so they can learn the music and script for auditions. These are optional, but students should make every effort to attend 1 of them. The dates are: Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16 until 3:45 PM. Students must have a ride home.

Auditions will be held on December 4, 6, and 8 after school until 4:30. Students should choose an audition date and note that on their PERMISSION TO AUDITION form. Students will be required to SING BY THEMSELVES and read from the script with a small group.

Please see the Permission to Audition Form and the Full Rehearsal Schedule.

Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Ramage (diramage@soudertonsd.org)

Ski and Snowboarding Club

Mark your calendars for the first informational meeting about the Indian Valley Ski and Snowboard Club that will be held on Tuesday, November 14th after school from 2:45 to 3:15 in E-47 (Mrs. Gossler's room). This meeting is to share general information and get an idea of how many students are interested in participating. There will be no commitment at this meeting, so if there is any thought that a student MIGHT be interested, come on out and see what it is all about! Contact Mrs. Heather Gossler at hgossler@soudertonsd.org or Ms. Lauren Douglas at ldouglas@soudertonsd.org.

Career Café

IV school counselors Ms. Jen Toby and Mrs. Kristen Raught held the first Career Café this week. The  speaker was Mrs. Jennifer Wilkinson. She is a Board Certified Music Therapist, and talked to our students about her educational and career journey along with her role as Board Certified Music Therapist. A HUGE Thank You to Mrs Wilkinson for coming to IV and sharing her journey.
