Leo Club Announcement

The LEO Club will be meeting on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 3:00 to 3:30 in Mrs. Gossler’s classroom (E47). The meeting will focus on reviewing and signing up for upcoming events. All are welcome. Contact Mrs. Gossler at hgossler@soudertonsd.org or call the main office at 215-256-8896.

Spirit Week – October 10-13

IV is celebrating fall spirit week with different themes throughout the week. The culminating events are a building assembly in the gym and an activity night on Friday, October 13. Below are the themes for the week.

• Tuesday – Crocs and Crazy Socks Day
• Wednesday – Jersey Day
• Thursday – Anything but a Backpack Day
• Friday – Soudy Pride Day

Bus Passes

Just a reminder that students getting bus passes to go to another student’s house after school must bring in a parent note identifying who they are going with, the date, and bus number. Each student (i.e., student attaining the pass and student that they are traveling to) is responsible for bringing in this information to the attendance office prior to or on the date of issuing the bus pass. Parents can also send an email to the attendance administrative assistant at AttendIV@soudertonsd.org. You can call the attendance office at 215-256-8896 (ext. 12104) with any questions about bus passes.

Attendance General Information

Pennsylvania School Code requires all students of compulsory age to attend school regularly. When an absence occurs, it is excused if:

• The absence occurs for legal reasons such as an illness, death in the family, of for other reasons approved by code, school policy, or school district personnel. AND
   
• The child’s parent/guardian provides a written excuse within three (3) days of a child’s return to school.

Character Counts Week

Character Counts Week is October 16-20. Each day students and staff are asked to wear the color/pillar associated with the day. See below.

• Monday - Citizenship - Purple 
• Tuesday - Responsibility - Green 
• Wednesday - Respect - Gold 
• Thursday - Honesty - Blue 
• Friday - Caring - Red 

Pink Out Day

Pink Out Day has been rescheduled from Friday, October 20 to Friday, October 27.

Volunteer Opportunities (IV Helping Hands) 

We have had a lot of activities through the month of October and are grateful to all the parents that volunteered to help with them. The wheel is rolling and below is updated volunteer information and opportunities for parents to volunteer. 

Parents interested in signing up to be included on the volunteer roster will help with volunteer recruitment efforts and coordinate communications to you. Signing up on this site does not commit you. A separate communication for each event will provide activity information and solicit your volunteer commitment (could include set up, chaperoning, fundraising, donating food or other items, event support, etc.).
