Back-to-School Night Thank You

Thank you to all parents and guardians that attended our Back-to-School night on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The event was well attended, and the staff enjoyed sharing the things they will be teaching your children this year. Additionally, the feedback Dr. Heller and I received about the evening was fantastic. Please remember to reach out to your child’s teachers if you have any questions moving through the school year.

Main Entrance Reminder

A reminder to all that the temporary main entrance we used last year during the renovation is closed. The main entrance is again in front of the building off the new addition. Please follow the signage when pulling into the driveway. This is where the students are dropped off when arriving late from attending an appointment and picked up when leaving for an appointment.

Calculator Sale

The school calculator sale is completely optional. This is not the only calculator that can be used in math class. However, your math teacher does feel that this calculator is a good fit for middle school math students of all abilities and can be used on standardized tests throughout middle school and into high school. The "math type" display and the fraction capability of these calculators make them very useful. Souderton can purchase a bulk quantity of TI-30's at a lower price and pass the savings on to you! Our school sale will end on September 16th. Keep in mind, you may also purchase these calculators through Amazon, Walmart, Target, or Staples. See the online sale for the calculators. 

SAVE Fall Harvest

Thank you IV SAVE Club for the fall harvest of the gardens this week. An abundance of fruits and vegetables were harvested and shared with the IV community. Next step is preparing the gardens for the winter.

Book Fair

Thank you to all students, parents, teachers, and volunteers for making the IV Book Fair a success. This was one of the first events that the new parent volunteer portal was operational. The support was sensational. Mrs. Hahn is reporting that this is the best Book Fair since she has been at IV.

Picture Day

Due to technical problems, picture day scheduled for Tuesday, September 12 is rescheduled to Friday, September 29, 2023, from 8:25 am to 2:00 pm. Teachers will accompany their classes to the auditorium where student will get their picture taken and then head back to the classroom. The schedule for when each team has their photo taken is ready for volunteers. Parents will again be able to volunteer to assist with the event and can volunteer using the Picture Day Sign-up Link.  

Bingo Party

An upcoming parent volunteer opportunity is the IVMS Bingo Party. The event is on October 16, 2023, from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm. This party is only for students who have met certain requirements during the IVMS fall school fundraiser. The responsibilities of volunteers include checking bingo cards and passing our prizes. Renovation Update

The renovation and addition to the building are being enjoyed by students and staff. Here are some photos from Mr. Bussom’s social studies class using the hallways in the new addition and renovated hallways for instruction. Special thanks to a grant from Grand View Health medicine balls were purchased as flexible seating focusing on health and wellness.
