IV Eagle Flyby - September 8, 2023
The opening week of school was sensational, and things are steadfast moving forward into the 2023-2024 school year. Below are a few informational items for your review.
School Security
Officer Mike Devlin, school police officer, and Bill Norbeck, school security guard make up the security team at IV. You will see them regularly in the halls, cafeteria, parking lots, activities, and athletic events. We are grateful to have a sensational security team at IV and across the district.
Cafeteria Staff
IV Chef Michelle Vu and the kitchen staff prepare the food daily for our students and staff. They are part of the district team of Matthew Samarco, Executive Chef, and Gwyneth Jones, Supervisor of Food
Services through Chartwells Food Service. Michelle’s kitchen staff includes Lisa Musselman, Walquiria Bueno Diaz, Amy Wallace, and Brenda Revera. If you ever get a chance to volunteer during the day, I highly recommend you stop in the cafeteria and check out the lunch menu being served. The food is fantastic!

Congratulations to Maya Herrlinger and Jeremy Evans
A huge shout out to Maya Herrlinger and Jeremy Evans who were both just awarded the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge Award. Both students were selected out of 1,828 projects that qualified at the national level and won a $125 prize. Maya and Jeremy are both being considered as a finalist in this competition. If they are selected, they will be invited to Finals Week of the competition, held in Washington, DC, from October 28 to November 2.
Jeremy and Maya are now in ninth grade, but we are so proud of the work they did in all the science fair competitions last year as eighth graders! Wishing them the best as they move further into the competition.
