IV Students at String Fest
Congratulations to the IV students selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, District 11 String Fest on February 23. Cortney Rossi (violin), Emilia Barnebei violin), Jake Stromen (viola), Ben Shenko (cello), Charlotte Vincent (bass), Sydney Bui (violin), Sarai Spence (violin), Sriya Gorrepati (viola), Kylie Nice (cello), Elena Vesey (bass). The concert is at 7:00 PM at Pottsgrove Middle School.

Ski and Snowboarding Club
IV’s Ski and Snowboarding Club will continue to hit the slopes through February. Even with the lack of snow students are having a fun time. Thank you to Mrs. Gossler and Ms. Douglas for being the faculty advisors responsible for running the club.

Polar Plunge 2024
Next Friday, February 9, 2024, Taylor Obermeier, Tatum Johnson, Evan Rothholz, and Gavin Sexton will represent Indian Valley at the Special Olympics Polar Plunge! These students, along with students from Indian Crest and SAHS will travel to Citizens Bank Park and take a cold jump into a pool to raise money for Special Olympics PA! Go team! Way to show your Valley Pride!

IV Cheerleading Squad
We are grateful for all the support and encouragement our cheerleaders give to the athletic program and school assemblies. This weekend they will compete in their third and final competition at Lansdale Catholic. In their previous competitions they finished in second place. Looking forward to a first place finish this weekend.

SASD Middle School Wrestling
The undefeated IV/IC Middle School Wrestling Team is looking forward to their final wrestling tournament on February 10. We wish them the best and another undefeated season.

January Students of the Month
Congratulations to the Students of the Month for January 2024. Thank You to all the parents, teachers, and Chartwells for making this a great event!

Mr. Hockman’s Science Class
Mr. Hockman wrapped up the Team Olympia chemistry unit making ice cream. The students had a wonderful time making and eating the ice cream as a culminating activity for the unit. A special Thank You to Mrs. Heather Markus for supplying the materials needed to make the ice cream. Also, Thank You to Ms. Nina Anderson of Nina’s waffles and Ice Cream for supplying the waffles.

IV Parent Forum – Wednesday, February 7, 2024
The next IV Parent Forum is on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 9:00 AM. Parents can attend the meeting in-person or virtually. The link for parents attending the meeting virtually was shared via e-mail.

IVMS Book Fair – Parent Volunteers Needed
Parent volunteers are needed to help staff at the Spring Book Fair from Monday, March 11, 2024, through Friday, March 15, 2024, in the IVMS Library. Volunteers will assist students and faculty with book selections and purchases, stocking/restocking items for sale, and checking out purchases (utilize the cash registers). The goal is to have at least two volunteers per time block (feel free to sign up for as many as you can). To volunteer visit the Book Fair Sign-up Form.

Be sure to complete and submit your volunteer clearance forms prior to your first volunteer timeslot.

Note:  information will be sent before the Book Fair regarding setting up an e-wallet account for your child and opportunities to donate funds to help teachers purchase books for their classrooms.

7^th to 8^th Grade Scheduling – Mark Your Calendar
Current seventh-grade parents are invited to attend the eighth-grade course selection town hall meeting on Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30 PM in the auditorium. School counselors and administrators will guide parents through the course selection process and review the scheduling timeline for the 2024-2025 school year. Parents that are unable to make the presentation can view it on the IV website later that week. If you have any questions regarding the course selection process, please contact your child’s school counselor.
