IV Eagle Flyby - January 12, 2024

Renovation Update & Rain
The renovation project continues to move forward, and Phase 6 is scheduled to be completed by the Spring Holiday. One weather-related challenge that we have confronted recently is the development of roof leaks in certain areas of the building. As you know, this past month we experienced almost 10 inches of rain which is more than double our usual amount.  This had led to leaking in some of our classroom spaces and caused us to temporarily relocate a few classes to other instructional areas. We have been working diligently with our contractors to deploy short-term roofing repairs.  For the long term, there is a plan to replace the entire roof at our school over the next two summers, prioritizing the problem areas. Most students and staff that were relocated due to the leaks returned to their regular classrooms today and we plan to be fully back to normal next Tuesday.  I am so proud of our students and staff who have been amazing and flexible throughout all phases of the renovation.  We are hoping for dryer weather and loving the new look of IV!
