Construction Updates

See the traffic flow diagram (effective August 29th, 2023) for construction areas, storage areas, temporary office location, and drop-off and pick-up areas during the renovation. 

Traffic patterns are in effect daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. beginning the opening day of school.  Additionally, the building opens at 7:25 a.m. and all students are dismissed at 2:45 p.m.

Bus drop-off and pick-up is on the Gruber Roadside of the building.

• Buses will enter from Gruber Road and exit to Maple Avenue. 
  • AM drop-off: students will exit the bus immediately upon arrival and enter the building.
  • PM pick-up: students will exit the building and board their assigned bus.

Parent drop-off and pick-up is on the gymnasium side of the building.

• Parents will enter the driveway on the gymnasium side of the building off Maple Avenue and proceed to the drop off area at the back of the building. 
  • Students will exit the vehicle and proceed to enter the building via the rear entrance.
  • Once the drop-off is complete, vehicles will exit via Gruber Road. 
  • Pick-up will be the same process.

Students walking to and from school crossing Maple Avenue will follow the walker paths and continue to enter the building at the main entrance.

Please note that all students will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. and we do not have staggered bus and parent pick-up/walker dismissals.

• This is a three-year project with nine phases.
• Phases 1, 2, 3A, 3B, and 3C are scheduled for the 2022-2023 school year. 
  • Phase 1 – Addition to the front of the building to include four new classrooms and provide a temporary main entrance to the building.
  • Phase 2 – E-Wing classrooms and corridor work. Classrooms renovations include new lighting, ceiling tiles, paint, ventilation, electrical work, plus other work. Corridor renovations include new floor tile, lockers, lighting, ceiling tile, and bathroom renovations.
  • Phase 3A – Abatement and demolition to the current Tech. Ed. room, weight room, health room, and TV studio. This is the area where the new locker rooms will be located.
  • Phase 3B – Abatement and demolition to the current locker rooms. This is the area where the new Tech. Ed, Health, and IVTV studio will be located.
  • Phase 3C – Renovation work will begin in the auditorium and music rooms.
     

• Some teachers will be moved to different classrooms during phases of the renovation. Parents will be notified by the teacher prior to moving to another classroom.
• 8th Grade students will start the year with no locker. However, if an 8th grade student would like a locker, one will be assigned to them.
• 6th and 7th grade students will have an assigned locker.

No.   Traffic patterns will remain the same. Please refer to the visual for traffic flow.

Yes. Water filling stations are available. Air conditioning is working.

No.  The school is cleaned daily.

Yes.  The cafeteria will operate as normal. The gymnasium and outside fields will be used for PE classes, activities, and sports.

No.  While all of our construction workers have background checks, they will still be always separated from students during the school day.  All exterior building entrances will remain locked and secure throughout the school day. 

No.  All sports and activities will continue as scheduled.
