Souderton Area School District offers remedial support and enrichment courses for secondary students who will be in grades 5-9.
Courses will be held at Indian Valley Middle School and are offered pending sufficient enrollment and staffing. Times are subject to change. Notification of course cancellations or changes will be received by June 20, 2008. Summer band will be held at Indian Crest. String classes will be held at Vernfield Elementary School.
Students enrolled in remedial summer school classes must attend all classes. Credit requires PERFECT ATTENDANCE. Absence due to severe illness requires a doctor's note for re-entry into summer school. Prompt attendance is also required. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Students who participate in the summer school program are required to follow the Souderton Area School District disciplinary code. Disciplinary actions may result in a removal from summer school with no refund.
Refund of Tuition: Tuition will be refunded for any course that is canceled due to insufficient enrollment. Tuition will also be refunded to any student who drops his/her course prior to the first class and does not attend any classes.
Remedial Courses: Remedial courses are designed for students who need to repeat a course taken during the school year. These courses are aligned with the Souderton Area School District standards/curriculum, and instruction will focus on key concepts.
Students who have received a (WF) withdraw/failing grade, or an average grade below fifty percent (50%), are not eligible for summer school.
All remedial summer school students must contact Mrs. Ellen Sykes to schedule a mandatory registration meeting prior to the start of school.
No Meeting required for Bridge Students.
