IV > Seventh grade musicians perform winter instrumental concert

Student musicians from Indian Valley Middle School performed their winter instrumental concert under the direction of band director Ms. Lois A. Russo.

Dr. Dale Burkhard, IVMS principal, welcomed an auditorium filled with families and friends.

The seventh grade band began the evening with the Star Spangled Banner and continued with Sleigh Ride and All Is Calm featuring horn players Jenny Denison, David Sloan, and Kyle Tipping. One hundred thirty students play in the band.

The Jazz Band picked up the tempo with Single All the Way, Blue Christmas, and Feliz Navidad.

The seventh grade band played the final selection of songs including You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch, Tame the Savage Sea, Little Saint Nick, and God Bless America.

Ms. Russo extended a special thank you to the students' parents for encouraging their children to pursue, "that special kind of fulfillment that is achieved through the performing arts."
