IV Eagle Flyby - August 17th

IV 2018-2019 Kickoff Eagle Flyby…...August 17, 2018 

The IV staff has been busy this past week readying their classrooms and building for opening day on Tuesday, August 28.  Additionally, the halls continued to be filled with excited students and parents touring the building and getting familiarized with the flow of their schedule. 

Staffing Update for 2018-2019
This year we had the opportunity to hire new teachers. Please join me in welcoming the following new teachers to Indian Valley.
- Ryan Hardie – 6th grade Science on Team Mariner
- Eileen McGreevey – Technology Education
- Heather Milligan – Special Education 6th grade
- Kaitlin Iezzi – 6th grade ELA on Team Adventure
 
Also, some teaching assignment have been changed.

An important reminder regarding Chromebook distribution on Tuesday, August 21.
Due to delays in summer maintenance, the 6th grade Chromebooks will not be distributed on Tuesday, August 21. A distribution date has not been determined, but we will keep you updated as soon as we have a date finalized. Parents of 6th grade students can still pay online prior to the distribution of the Chromebooks and check out the other important information on the link below. We look forward to meeting our 6th graders and transitioning them to life in the middle school. 

However, 7th and 8th grade Chromebooks will be distributed as scheduled on Tuesday, August 21. The information below references the scheduled distribution times.  Students unable to attend the August 21 distribution date will be able to pick up their Chromebook when school starts on Tuesday, August 28. 

*Note that 7th and 8th grade students new to SASD that registered after July 31 will not get their Chromebook on August 21.  Chromebooks for new students enrolled after July 31 will be distributed when school starts at a date to be determined.

August 21 Chromebook Distribution Schedule 
Tuesday, August 21 – IV 7th and 8th grade Chromebook Distribution in the LGI 
o Three scheduled times of distribution. 
8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

o Additionally, this year we are allowing students to use their book bag to carry to all classes with the exception of the cafeteria and the locker rooms. It is recommended that Chromebook be transported in their book bag throughout the day.

Thursday, September 6 – Magazine Drive and Cookie Dough Fundraiser begins.
Friday, September 7 to Friday, September 14 – Book Fair (LGI).
Thursday, September 13 – Back-to-School Night – 6:30 to 9:00.
